January 2019 | Monthly Consumptions

Hello you sacks of beautiful people. January has been a really busy month for me but it did not stop me from consuming a whole lot of stories!

The first thing I consumed this month was the Valleycast by the lovely people over at the Valleyfolk. These are some of my favorite humans and they are just so talented and wonderful. Honestly some of the funniest people I have seen on this planet. I loved them from their days on SourceFed and they just bring such light into my life every week. They inspire me to create and be my goofy self. You can check out their Youtube Channel here.

The first book I read this month was Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare and you can check out my full review right here

The first thing I watched this month was You starring Penn Badgley on Netflix and holy shit this show was amazing. It was so intense and unlike anything I have ever seen. It was dark and sexy and crazy. I felt conflicted and emotional while watching. I would give this show 5 out of 5 stars and I cannot wait for the second season!

Then I read Queen of Air and Darkness and OMG y'all this book was great! Check out my review here!

I also reread Shadow and Bone this month since Netflix announced that they are turning this beloved book into a series! Check out my full review here!

This month I also started watching Game of Thrones! I do not want to be left out of all the conversations when the show comes back in April! So I am now on Season 4 and I am loving it so far! I plan on finishing season 7 sometime this month!

I also read Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo this month and you can check out my full review here!

What I started watching this month was The Final Table on Netflix which you can check out here! This show was fascinating to me. To see chefs with Michelin stars compete against each other and be judged by some of the best food critics and chefs in the world is so interesting. It opened me up to a world of different foods and different ways to think about food. It has definitely changed the way I cook meals even though I am not of their caliber, I can still try. 5 out of 5 stars!

This month I also saw Tiny Meat Gang LIVE! It was amazing to see Cody Ko and Noel Miller live and in person preforming comedy. It felt great to go to a live show instead of watching everything on Netflix. I love everything these boys put out and their show was no different. 5 out of 5 stars!

Those were all of my monthly consumptions! What did you read or watch this month. Let me know in the comments down below!

Thanks Hons,
Lee Chand

  2. I also watched You this month and holy cow I agree with Nikki! That last episode probably took a year off my life. I keep meaning to start GoT but at this point I feel like I should just wait until the final season airs so I can binge them all at once. That and I'm in the middle of a Gossip Girl rewatch and I'm only on season 2. I finally took the hint after Twitter blew up when the Grishaverse adaptation was announced to actually read the books (I started with Six of Crows this month) and OMG I cannot believe I hadn't read them before! It's one of those 'I told you so' moments that everyone has been taking advantage of :) Anyway, I hope you have a lovely February, Lee!
