THE BOOK ADDICTION TAG

I believe that originally this tag came from Always Trust in Books. I am not entirely sure but I will link it just in case. This just seemed too fun to pass up on.

1. What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?
If I am in a slump or busy (like I am now) it can go on for weeks but if I am in the mood maybe 2 hours because I have a problem.

2. How many books do you carry on your person (or kindle) at any one time?
I don't usually carry more than one book on me unless I am traveling. You can usually find me carry one extremely large book at all times.

3) Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?
I do keep most of the books I buy, but if I have an extra copy of a book I will gladly give it away. I do need to clean up my shelves so it might be time for an unhaul.

4) How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?
At least an hour, up to two. Sometimes I go to bookstores and read an entire book there.

5) How much time per day do you actually spend reading?
It depends on how busy I am. If I have things to do, usually before go to bed I can get 3-5 hours of reading in. If I have all day, I could spend 12 hours reading.

6) Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?
Usually it is pretty low if I have actual things to do, but if the things I have to do are things like cleaning my room and doing my dishes...... I am gonna pick up the book.

7) How many books do you reckon you own in total (including e-books)?
I do not have an exact count but, i would guess over 700.... I have a problem.

8) Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?
I would say 50% of my conversations. I do not have many friends that are into books so I try not to bring it up too much but I just wanna talk about BOOKS! :/ But I do bring up Harry Potter, Twilight and the Hunger Games a lot just because they are series that everyone knows.

9) What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?
I think the longest book I have read was Kingdom of Ash which is 980 pages. That is the last big book that I can remember.

10) Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds (i.e searching bookshops, online digging, etc.)?
I usually have pretty good luck when searching for books, but I was looking for a book for my mom and I forget the name, but apparently there was only one left in the country. I never got it... I am still really sad about it.

11) A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?
There are so many tbh with y'all. The only book that I really would not pick up again is Graceling by Kristin Cashore. It was so long ago, but it just bored me.

12) What are 3 of your main book goals for 2019?
1. Read at least 30 books
2. Keep up with my blog and posting once a week to every two weeks
3. Go to BEA and BookCon and meet other readers

13) Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?
I remember I got everyone in my high school to read Divergent my sophomore year of high school. I remember my copy of Divergent was passed around to at least 12 people and I wrote a little message like "Enjoy and cherish this book as much as I did." And a lot of people after that began to read more which was cool to see.

14) Describe what books mean to you in five words.
Bridge into another world...cool.
If you're addicted to books, feel free to tag yourself. Leave a comment below answering whatever question you would like.

Thanks Hons,
Lee Chand

  3. One of my main goals for this year is also to keep up with my blog. Sometimes I'm busy or get distracted, but I'm also trying to post at least once a week.
