February 2019 | Monthly Consumptions

Hello you sacks of beautiful people. February has come and gone, but it did not stop me from consuming everything in my path! Just an update...I watched a lot of movies this month...didn't do much reading.

The first thing I watched this month was an old childhood favorite of mine, Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School. I loved Scooby Doo as a child (I was convinced I was going to marry Fred) and this particular episode I used to watch all the time. I had it on VHS so when I saw it on YouTube I said I had to watch it to relive the glory days. While I found their high pitch screams to be a little much for me in my old age it is still a classic none the less. 5 out of 5 stars!

The next thing I watched this month was Netflix's Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes. All my life I have found crime documentaries to be fascinating. I would actually look forward to watching Dateline and 20/20 every week because these stories were so captivating to me. (Side note: I also love crime shows. Bones is one of my favorites). I loved this series because the killings of Ted Bundy had always fascinated me because I was in awe of how he was able to kill so many people and get away with it. This series went into detail of how the police were trying to find him and how he escaped and what not. I would give this series a 4.5 out of 5 just because I felt like it was a bit long at times and it was hard to hold my attention the entire time, but fascinating none the less.

The next thing I watched this month was Ocean's 8 which I found to be super interesting. It was cool to see a bunch of bad ass women come together to commit crimes but it was not amazing for me. I would give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend you watch it just because it was cool to see the other Ocean's movies continue, but it was a bit slow at times.

The next movie I watched this month was Fifty Shades of Freed. I watched this just to finish off the story line, but this felt like I was watching a fan fiction come to life. The story line felt so fabricated in the worst way possible. I found myself actually rolling my eyes multiple times throughout watching with some of the choices that were made. Overall I would give it 2 out of 5 stars because I still made it through the entire movie.

The next movie I watched wa Ibiza: Love Drunk and the only reason I watched it because my baby Richard Madden is in it. Honestly, you could skip this movie because it is not worth your time. Vanessa Bayer made me cringe the entire time, but there were some funny moments in this movie. I would give this movie 0 stars but I will give it 1 out of 5 stars just because Richard Madden is in it.

The next movie I watched was He's Just Not That Into You which was a rewatch and it was still good. It still holds up. It was interesting to watch now as someone who goes to bars and is dating people. It opened my eyes a bit to realize how men really work instead of this fantasized version of them. I would give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars

The next movie I watched was Kill Bill which is such a classic. It is a very gory movie so I will say that if you are sensitive to limbs flying and blood, skip this movie. But I love the story. Uma Thurman is a bad ass and I love a good revenge story. It can be a bit hard to follow if you don't pay attention to every detail, but it is a top notch film. 5 out of 5 stars.

Right after watching Kill Bill I then proceeded to watch Poltergeist which is another favorite of mine. I first watched this movie 6 years ago and now watching it again I still have the same thrill I had watching it the first time.

The next movie I watched was Love, Simon and OH MY GOD THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING! It was so cute and it made my cry, it made my laugh, it hit all the feels. I would watch this movie over and over again it because it was just the perfect feel good movie. It had such a great message and I think everyone should check this movie out. 5 out of 5 stars.

The next movie I watched was Austin Powers in Goldmember and this is one of the first movies I remember watching when I was 5 years old. I love goofy movies like this that just have the dumbest jokes. Beyoncé in this movie was...eh but I still love the Austin Powers movies none the less. 5 out of 5 stars for the nostalgia factor.

Those were all of my monthly consumptions! What did you read or watch this month. Let me know in the comments down below!

Thanks Hons,
Lee Chand
