March 2019 | Monthly Consumptions

The month of March was quite a busy month for me and I did not get to read as much as I wanted to. That being said I did watch a lot of great TV.

The first show I watched this month was Grace and Frankie. I am in the middle of season 3 now and it is a great show to have on in the background while cooking and cleaning. Grace and Frankie is a story about two women who have been rivals all their life, but that all changes when their husbands revel they have been having an affair with each other for the last 20 years and want to get married. This show makes me laugh in ways I would never expect. I find the family dynamic weird and charming. I have decided recently that I want to be Jane Fonda when I am older. Take shit from no one and drink vodka all day. I would give this show 3.5 out of 5 stars just because it does not keep my attention 100% of the time but it is still a fantastic show.

The next show I watched this month was Queer Eye Season 3 and this show is so heart warming and just has me crying every episode. The Fab 5 take on Kanas City in this season and we meet some of the most amazing people who are true heroes. To see someone's self confidence go through the roof makes me happy. Any time I see these five men together I am filled with joy and hope. Queer Eye always gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.

The only book I read this month was Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas and you can see my review of that here!

So my roommate and I were talking about what cartoons we watches as a kid and we discovered that Total Drama Island is on Netflix. We watched the whole first season in one day. Total Drama Island is an animated spoof of Survivor where 22 teens compete for a cash prize at the end. This brought back so many memories of me in my basement, eating multiple cheese sticks and watching cartoons all night. This show still holds up and I feel like kids now in 2019 would like this show. This show gets 4 out of 5 stars from me!

The next thing I saw this month was something that I have been excited about for months: Jordan Peele's UsAccompanied by her husband, son and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, the family is horrified to learn that each attacker takes the appearance of one of them. This movie had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Lupita's performance in this movie was absolutely brilliant and if she is not nominated for this role I will set the Oscars on fire. While I did think Get Out was better, this movie was so well thought out and the more I think about it the more discoveries I make. 5 out of 5 stars!

The next thing I watched this month was Season 11 of RuPaul's Drag Race. I have been watching this show since I was a child and it just keeps getting better and better as the years go on. This year my favorite queens have to be Brooke Lynn, Vanjie and Yvie. I will say that this season seems to be lacking comedy queens. Vanjie has been giving me enough laughs though. Can't wait to see what this season has in store. 4 out of 5 stars.

I also started rewatching Grey's Anatomy this month and omg it might have been a mistake. There are so many episodes of this show and I know how things ends up but I forget how they get there so I just keep watching and watching. And also crying and crying. This show is so emotional and so addicting. The medical drama series focuses on a group of young doctors at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital, who began their careers at the facility as interns. I watched 4 seasons in 2 weeks which is a PROBLEM! This show is thrilling, sexy and heartbreaking. This show gets 5 out of 5 stars from me!

This month I also watched seasons 5 and 6 of Game of Thrones. Hopefully I finish season 7 in time for the new season on April 14th. This show is honestly amazing and I can't believe it took me so long to get into it. 5 out of 5 stars!

What did you watch this month? Let me know in the comments down below!

Thanks Hons,
Lee Chand
