Throne of Glass vs A Court of Thorns and Roses BOOK TAG

I recently stumbled across this tag on Cailin's lovely blog Rose Petal Pages and I felt compelled to give this tag a shot! I love Sarah J. Maas novels and have been looking for a while for an exciting tag that I could do on these books!

1. Favorite main character: AELIN or FEYRE?

While I do love both of these characters, I have to go with Aelin. She is such a complex, bad ass character and is truly what I aspire to be. She is such a strong and ruthless leader, yet she is compassionate and caring. I got to see Aelin grow over 7 books and I just did not fall for Feyre the same way.
WINNER: TOG

2. Favorite love interest: ROWAN or RHYSAND?

um is that even a question??? Y'ALL KNOW ME! Rowan all the way baby! I love how he goes from a complete asshole to a gushy little cinnamon role. And the way he fights for Aelin just makes my heart WEAK.
WINNER: TOG

3. Better first book: THRONE OF GLASS or A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES?

Now for this one I have to go with A Court of Thrones and Roses. In Throne of Glass Celaena wasn't the Aelin we know and love today. ACOTAR was a beautiful fairytale re-telling with a dark twist which I fell in love with.
WINNER: ACOTAR

4. Favorite strong female side character: MANON BLACKBEAK or NESTA ARCHERON?

Nesta just made me so angry throughout ACOFAS that I have to go with Manon even though I did not like her till maybe Empire of Storms. But Manom grew so much from the time when we first saw her. In Kingdom of Ash she her story broke my heart so I have to go with her.
WINNER: TOG

5. Better squad: AELIN'S COURT or RHY'S INNER CIRCLE?

For this I have to once again go with Aelin's Court. Aelin's Court stretches far and wide and has such a great sense of humor. Also Fenry's is one of my favorite people.
WINNER: TOG

6. Favorite female friendships: LYSANDRA or MOR?

Again I have to go with Throne of Glass because Lysandra is the GOAT! That snow leopard and sea monster goddess has my heart! At first Aelin and Lysandra were at each other's throats and now they would literally die for one another.
WINNER: TOG

7. Best evil villain: KING OF ADARLAN or AMARANTHA?

Amarantha filled me with dread ever time I read anything about her. She really got to me. She drew out so much fear in me while the King of Adarlan was kinda just a joke to most people. I forgot he was the main enemy for most of this series lmao.
WINNER: ACOTAR

8. Better setting: ERILEA or PRYTHIAN?

Erilea just seems rich and expensive. Just luxurious and just a better lifestyle.
WINNER: TOG

9. Better ex-boyfriend: CHAOL or TAMLIN?

LOL as much as I hate Chaol I think I have to go with him here. I kinda like Tamlin because maybe I am just attracted to abusive men. Actually you know what fuck it, I'm gonna go with Tamlin. Sorry I know y'all hate me. idk hes kinda sexy leave me alone. I am just not attracted to normal human boring ass Chaol.
WINNER: ACOTAR

10. Better novella: ASSASSIN'S BLADE or A COURT OF FROST AND STARLIGHT?

Assassin's Blade added so much to Celaena's backstory while I feel like ACOFAS was just filler. The plot wasn't really there and I felt there was no point to the story at all.
WINNER: TOG

RESULTS

Throne of Glass: 7
A Court of Thorns and Roses: 3
Winner: THRONE OF GLASS

  4. I completely agree Assassin's Blade is so much better than ACOFAS. While ACOFAS makes my fangirl heart extremely happy, it doesn't add too much to the characters we already know and love but AB adds SO MUCH to Aelin's (or, I suppose, Celeana's) character. Also, I will take Manon over Nesta any day of the week! I agree Manon grows SO MUCH over the course of the series and she's such a complex character (what happened in KoA… oh my goodness I don't know if I'll ever get over it). Nesta is also complex but kind of less so and she's starting to grate on my nerves, especially in ACOFAS. I don't know how I'll like the next set of ACOTAR books with her as a lead. Anyway, I have so many more opinions but I need to stop before I start getting on a roll :) I'll probably just end up doing this tag myself!
