My Most Anticipated Books of 2016!

I hope you all have a happy holiday and an awesome new year! PARTY HARD (cause I know I probably will) My plans for 2016 are to read...a lot. Along side a few reading challenges I have set in mind, I have an ever growing TBR already. 2016 is bringing so many new and exciting books that I cannot wait to read! This list is long already and 2016 has yet to begin.
The first book that I cannot wait for is Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. Everyone at BEA received an ARC copy of this book so the hype over this book is somewhat lost, but since I have not read it yet I am very excited about it. It is a time travel book which I have not read in a while but I do love Alexandra Bracken's writing. The Darkest Minds is one of my favorite books and even though I have not finished the series yet, I will because I cannot get enough of Liam. Alexandra Bracken creates amazing book boyfriends that seem to fit my taste in men in real life.

In one devastating night, violin prodigy Etta Spencer loses everything she knows and loves. Thrust into an unfamiliar world by a stranger with a dangerous agenda, Etta is certain of only one thing: she has traveled not just miles but years from home. And she’s inherited a legacy she knows nothing about from a family whose existence she’s never heard of. Until now.
Nicholas Carter is content with his life at sea, free from the Ironwoods—a powerful family in the colonies—and the servitude he’s known at their hands. But with the arrival of an unusual passenger on his ship comes the insistent pull of the past that he can’t escape and the family that won’t let him go so easily. Now the Ironwoods are searching for a stolen object of untold value, one they believe only Etta, Nicholas’ passenger, can find. In order to protect her, he must ensure she brings it back to them— whether she wants to or not.
Together, Etta and Nicholas embark on a perilous journey across centuries and continents, piecing together clues left behind by the traveler who will do anything to keep the object out of the Ironwoods’ grasp. But as they get closer to the truth of their search, and the deadly game the Ironwoods are playing, treacherous forces threaten to separate Etta not only from Nicholas but from her path home . . . forever

The next book coming out this year is Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. This is the second book in the Red Queen series/trilogy??????? I have yet to read Red Queen, but I have it and I want to read it and hopefully I will read it just before Glass Sword comes out because I do love a good marathon. These books are set in a world where people are separated into two categories; those who have red blood and those who have silver blood.

Mare Barrow’s blood is red—the color of common folk—but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control.
The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from Maven, the prince—the friend—who betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.
Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors.
But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat.
Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?

The next book I am excited to read is The Shadow Queen by C. J. Redwine! Having read both Cinder and A Court of Thorns and Roses I have come to realize that I love fairy tale retellings. They take the same old boring story that I have heard a million times before and make it exciting and interesting again. They expand on so much and take so many different tracks but still go along with the original storyline. When I read the synopsis I couldn't help but think Snow White with a dark twist. I cannot wait to get my hands on this! Plus the cover is so intriguing! The black apple really caught my eye.

Lorelai Diederich, crown princess and fugitive at large, has one mission: kill the wicked queen who took both the Ravenspire throne and the life of her father. To do that, Lorelai needs to use the one weapon she and Queen Irina have in common—magic. She’ll have to be stronger, faster, and more powerful than Irina, the most dangerous sorceress Ravenspire has ever seen.
In the neighboring kingdom of Eldr, when Prince Kol’s father and older brother are killed by an invading army of magic-wielding ogres, the second-born prince is suddenly given the responsibility of saving his kingdom. To do that, Kol needs magic—and the only way to get it is to make a deal with the queen of Ravenspire, promise to become her personal huntsman…and bring her Lorelai’s heart.
But Lorelai is nothing like Kol expected—beautiful, fierce, and unstoppable—and despite dark magic, Lorelai is drawn in by the passionate and troubled king. Fighting to stay one step ahead of the dragon huntsman—who she likes far more than she should—Lorelai does everything in her power to ruin the wicked queen. But Irina isn’t going down without a fight, and her final move may cost the princess the one thing she still has left to lose.

The next book that I want to read in 2016 is Burning Glass by Kathryn Purdie. This is another book that is filled with badassery and powerful women. This is Kathryn Purdie's premier novel and I have such high hopes for it. Plus the cover is beautiful. It is what first drew me to the book.

Sonya was born with the rare gift to feel what those around her feel—both physically and emotionally—a gift she’s kept hidden from the empire for seventeen long years. After a reckless mistake wipes out all the other girls with similar abilities, Sonya is hauled off to the palace and forced to serve the emperor as his sovereign Auraseer.
Tasked with sensing the intentions of would-be assassins, Sonya is under constant pressure to protect the emperor. One mistake, one small failure, will cost her own life and the lives of the few people left in the world who still trust her.
But Sonya’s power is untamed and reckless, her feelings easily usurped, and she sometimes can’t decipher when other people’s impulses end and her own begin. In a palace full of warring emotions and looming darkness, Sonya fears that the biggest danger to the empire may be herself.
As she struggles to wrangle her abilities, Sonya seeks refuge in her tenuous alliances with the volatile Emperor Valko and his idealistic younger brother, Anton, the crown prince. But when threats of revolution pit the two brothers against each other, Sonya must choose which brother to trust—and which to betray.
BURNING GLASS is debut author Kathryn Purdie’s stunning tale of dangerous magic, heart-rending romance, and the hard-won courage it takes to let go.
The next book is the book I have been waiting ages for and I cannot believe it is finally coming out. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare! New Cassandra Clare books give me life! She creates such beautiful characters and the world she created is so detailed! You just want to learn more and more about the Shadowhunter history! This is the first book in The Dark Artifices out of how ever many there are going to be but I am way too excited!!

Up next we have The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater! I love The Raven Cycle and I do not want it to be over! One of my first reviews on this blog was of The Raven Boys and my first giveaway was Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I love Maggie Stiefvater's characters and though her writing style is a little hard to get into, I find myself flying through these books. I have fallen in love with Richard Campbell Gansey III and I am not ashamed at all. I do not care if he is obsessed with an ancient king! He is perfect.

A dazzling new fantasy series set in a mix of Elizabethan and frontier worlds that’s dripping with romance from Richelle Mead, #1 internationally bestselling author of Vampire Academy.
Big and sweeping, spanning the refined palaces of Osfrid to the gold dust and untamed forests of Adoria, The Glittering Courttells the story of Adelaide, an Osfridian countess who poses as her servant to escape an arranged marriage and start a new life in Adoria, the New World. But to do that, she must join the Glittering Court.
Both a school and a business venture, the Glittering Court is designed to transform impoverished girls into upper-class ladies capable of arranging powerful and wealthy marriages in the New World. Adelaide naturally excels in her training and even makes a few friends: the fiery former laundress Tamsin and the beautiful Sirminican refugee Mira. She manages to keep her true identity hidden from all but one: the intriguing Cedric Thorn, son of the wealthy proprietor of the Glittering Court.
When Adelaide discovers that Cedric is hiding a dangerous secret of his own, together, they hatch a scheme to make the best of Adelaide’s deception. Complications soon arise—first, as they cross the treacherous seas from Osfrid to Adoria, and later, when Adelaide catches the attention of a powerful governor.
But no complication will prove quite as daunting as the potent attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. An attraction that, if acted on, would scandalize the Glittering Court and make them both outcasts in wild, vastly uncharted lands. . .
Up next we have A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Mass! I do not know how Sarah J Mass keeps popping out these books but I am so happy that she does. I have just finished A Court of Thorns and Roses and I just need more! I do not know how Sarah J Mass keeps me wanting more with every single book but she better keep doing it. The romance and action keep me enthralled the entire time!
