From bestselling author L.J. Shen, comes a new, standalone, contemporary romance.

It should have been easy.
I needed the money. He needed a babysitter to keep him from snorting himself to death.
I was cherry-picked especially for him. Responsible. Optimistic. Warm. Innocent.
The worst part is that I should have known better.
Alex Winslow. British rock star. Serial heartbreaker. Casanova with whiskey eyes.
“Don’t get near the devil in a leather jacket. He’ll chew you up and spit you out.”
Guess what? I didn’t listen.
I signed the contract.
World tour. Three months. Four Continents. One hundred shows.
My name is Indigo Bellamy, and I sold my soul to a tattooed god.
Problem was, my soul wasn’t enough for Alex Winslow. He ended up taking my body, too.
Then he took my heart.
Then he took my all.

•• PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 ••

By now we all know that L.J. Shen writes the best the most incredible alpha assholes that you can't help but fall in love with. They have an edge to them that is shocking and sexy. It is her specialty so it is no surprise when we come across yet another in Midnight Blue. This has to be one of my favorite rockstar romances. As someone who fantasized about being the backstage lover to multiple rockstars and boyband members, this book fulfilled all my fantasies. A British bad-boy rockstar that is tortured, damaged and beautifully broken had me gushing with every word. Alex Winslow is brash, rude and incredibly arrogant, yet I melted once he opened his smart-ass mouth and told the world to go fuck itself. Midnight Blue had everything you could want in a rockstar romance novel. The ups and downs of an industry that feeds into celebrity gossip, the drugs and sex that all seem so gruff and dirty and the overdramatic musicians and management that surround an egotistical, entitled rockstar. Now throw in an unsuspecting girl to flip everything on its head and you've got yourself a great novel.

And that is exactly what Indigo Bellamy did. After Alex's life falls apart due to his destructive behavior, Indie is hired as his babysitter. And as awful as Alex is to her, she is desperate for the money and is determined not to quit. Once Alex realizes she is in for the long haul, he is determined to seduce her. The sexual tension between these two is instant and palpable. The feisty barbs, the antagonistic arguments, the undeniable attraction, all of them blend together into a connection that practically burns through the pages. It was a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions that had me addicted to every word. Their midnight hallway sessions were the moments I looked forward to the most. The moments where they were alone and revealed themselves to each other, and Alex made her his muse. In these moments, he made his slow comeback to the artist they all know and love.

L.J. Shen did it again with this book but this one especially hit home for me. It is all I ever dreamed of in middle school. The only thing I had a problem with was that it was a little predictable. I saw the emotional ending from a mile away, but we aren't reading these books for plot twists now are we. I also pictured Alex as a Chris Hemsworth type which does not really match his description but it did the trick for me! Midnight Blue gets 4.5 out of 5 stars from me!
