Defy is a smutty, insta-love, insta-lust short novella. Defy is a prequel to Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1). It is recommended, but unnecessary, to read Defy before reading Vicious.

First included in Hot for Teacher Anthology: 19 Stories Filled with Lust and Love.

My name is Melody Greene, and I have a confession to make.
I slept with my student, a senior in high school.
Multiple times.
I had multiple orgasms.
In multiple positions.
I slept with my student and I enjoyed it.
I slept with my student and I’d do it all over again if I could turn back time.
My name is Melody Greene, and I got kicked out of my position as a teacher and did my walk of shame a la Cersei Lannister from the principal’s office, minutes after said principal threatened to call the cops on me.
My name is Melody Greene, and I did something bad because it made me feel good.
Here is why it was totally worth it.

•• PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 ••

After enjoying Pretty Reckless and Vicious thoroughly I figured I had to read the story where it all came from. Melody Greene and Jaime Followhill are the prelude to all of our All Saints High's drama-filled and smutty stories. Jaime is your typical L.J. Shen love interest: one of the four hotholes, all-star football player, and the principle's son. And he just so happens to have the hots for his English teacher, Melody Greene.

Since this is a novella, the plot moves almost too quickly, but the characters are intriguing enough that it is not one dimensional like most novella's are. We jump right into the good stuff, yet it doesn't feel rushed. Jamie and Melody’s fling seems like an inevitability after a whole lot of sexual tension that started building before the story even begins. The abundance of not-so-subtle flirtations only adds to that.
Defy is one hell of a student-teacher romance that is beyond sultry and surprisingly unpredictable, seeing that the entire plot appears to be in the synopsis. I flew threw this in an hour because L.J. Shen is my new addiction! 4 out of 5 stars.

Who is your favorite Hothole? Let me know in the comments down below!

  1. My favorite hot hole has to be Vicious. I like that he is an asshole.

  2. I've been tempted to read this one, but as a personal preference I'm not big on novellas. I usually find that there just isn't enough time to develop the story or the connection between the characters usually...how do you think that went here?

    1. I read Pretty Reckless and Vicious before I read this so I already had a background of these characters. So if you do that you should be fine.
